This Instantpot Apple Cider Recipe celebrates all things fall: seasonal apples, comforting cinnamon, and sweet citrus. It’s a perfect combination that’s cozy and quintessential of cold weather. Top with whipped cream, serve it hot or cold, this cider is a crowd pleaser!
For our fresh apple cider recipe, you’ll need:
- Apples, sliced
- Oranges, sliced
- Cranberries
- Lemons, sliced
- Cinnamon sticks
- Vanilla
- Star anise
- Water
We used a variety of apples. Some of these apples were surplus apples that we picked from Apple Hill, CA. We used a variety of apples, so that flavor would have depth. Our cider features three Granny Smith Apples, 3 Honey Crisp Apples, and 3 unknown varieties from our apple picking expedition.
Dump everything into the 8 quart Instantpot and turn it on for 15 minutes. Once the cycle is complete, let it naturally release for 10 minutes and then quick release until you can open the lid.
And that’s all there is. See?! Super easy.
A few quick notes on our Apple Cider Recipe….
- This recipe yields a bunch. You can store it in an airtight container in the fridge, and use as needed. We used these cute tiny tulip jars for our cider, but mason jars would be cute for storing the cider in, too!
- Drink this hot or cold!! We love it both ways, though I’m partial to it warm and topped with caramel and whipped cream.
- You can use any combination of apples, but a variation of apples will give the cider more depth.
