This Pumpkin Spice Latte is quick, fresh, and just as amazing as the original PSL! Make this Pumpkin Spice Latte when you just want to enjoy the fall season, but don’t want to venture outside. Whip it together in your kitchen with just 5 ingredients in less than 5 minutes!
This is the season. Our favorite pumpkin season! And what recipe celebrates fall better than Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte?!? This recipe is EVERYTHING. Seriously. It’s creamy, thick, flavored with pumpkin and spices, and caffeinated. It’s also super easy to make. So easy, in fact, that I’ve been living off just these the past several mornings.
You’ll need just 5 ingredients.
The most important ingredient?! Pumpkin. Without pumpkin, you’d just have a latte. So, stock up on canned pumpkin during this season. I have a hard time finding pumpkin in August and early September, so when I find a grocery store that sells it when it’s not in season, I stock up.
You’ll also need brown sugar, milk, and pumpkin pie spice. Whipped cream and caramel are optional, but you really shouldn’t be given a choice in the matter. Why?! Because everything is way better with whipped cream and caramel – right?
Anyway, I digress. Too much talking – let’s just make it already!
First easy steps. Pour your milk (or milk substitute) and mix in the cinnamon and pumpkin pie puree. Heat it for about 1 minute in the microwave (or over medium-high heat on the stove), just to warm up the liquid. Heating the liquid enables the spices to blend better, otherwise you might just get clumps of unmixed spice.
Once slightly heated, mix the ingredients together with a small whisk or fork. We use a Japanese double whisk. I know, it looks like we have it upside down, but we really don’t. We’re using this fun whisk, found here!
Next, add your cup of hot, strong coffee. Quick note – I’ve been making this with weak coffee and today, I made it with really strong coffee and the results were fabulous and really complimented the pumpkin flavoring. I suggest using a cup of strong coffee – don’t skimp and brew a weak cup, because it will definitely reflect in the taste.
Are you getting excited yet, because we’re almost there! One more step….
Add a dollop of fluffy whipped cream, and top with sweet, buttery caramel!
Caramel and whipped cream are optional. But how can you say no?
And there you go! There’s your PSL dupe. You made it in less time than it would have taken you to get dressed, get in the car, and grab one from Starbucks. And now that you have an entire can of pumpkin leftover, you can make this drink again, and again, and again.
Pure pumpkin perfection. Oh, wait. Almost. I did come across this mug the other night when I was shopping. This mug would be perfect for your delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte!
